Today was all about packing. I’m flying to The Netherlands in a day or two and I’ll be staying there for 15 days.
Now, we all know you can’t pack all of your closet and bring it with you (although some of us almost do that anyway!). When packing I tend to take stuff that I haven’t worn in a while but ‘maybe I’ll want to wear it right then and there’; things that I don’t really need but who knows what might happen and when I might need them… you get the picture. My suitcase then gets stuffed with “what if”-s and “just in case”-s and most of the time, I don’t even look at, let alone wear the 2/3 of the clothes I packed. So I decided to cut it all down to the bare minimum and work my magic with it. I chose to bring basics like plain t-shirts, jeans, black pants. Since I’m going to a slightly colder climate, I have to have a jacket (leather, denim), a black cardigan and at least one long sleeved shirt. My color scheme mainly consists of neutrals and blues, but I’ll throw in some prints and bold pieces, for the pop of color. Accessorizing is really important when not able to take a lot of clothes with you, as you can wear one dress multiple times and no one will notice if it’s accessorized differently. That means lots of necklaces, bracelets, rings for me!
While packing, an idea came to my mind to document my trip in terms of fashion; meaning, I’ll (try to) post photos of what I wore each day while there to see how versatile my pieces can actually be, as well as practice my creativity as a stylist when with limited possibilities. Expect a lot of new outfit posts!
