black flats
black studded flats

Just a quick post to show off my newest DIY project. I noticed you simply cannot find ballerina flats without any kind of embellishments. There must be a bow, a buckle or another fabric added. While bows were a huge trend when I bought these, the only choice was whether you’d like a bigger or a smaller one. So I went with smaller but that kind of backfired later on as the bow started unraveling every few steps I made. I finally had enough of it few days ago and decided to do something about it. I love those shoes because they’re so comfortable and I couldn’t even imagine throwing them out. Instead, I opted for a little upgrade.
The photos are pretty self explanatory, I did this in about 10 minutes, while watching TV. It’s that easy. I cut the bow and replaced it with studs. Done!

PS. You can find studs in your local crafting shops, eBay or anywhere online, just google it and see what shop you’d like them from!

Very simple method, but a nice effect! Now, if you watched a full-length movie, just imagine how much surface you could embellish. Ha ha! :)

Have never studded my shoes .. maybe should try it :D Anyway, sometimes is quite hard to personalize the shoes because the material is too hard :/

Svidja mi se. Super je ispalo. Ja pokushavam da uradim sa svojim pokojnim belim baletankama nesto, ali bela boja je tako nezahvalna, moram smisliti nesto.

I personally like the studs better! It is so hard to find flats without anything! I have a pair with bows myself. I wouldn’t mind putting sparkles all over them.

Lovely idea! I love adding studs to otherwise boring accessories. I’ve added them to leather jackets (yea, that’s an obvious choice), pink ballet slippers, and black boots. It’s always inspiring to continue on this path when I see another like minded DIY project. Can’t wait to read more of your posts!

Great post! I’m not normally a flats girl, but that’s mostly because I cannot stand bows on anything so I’ve always have a bit of an issue with them. You’re totally right when you say that a while ago pretty much every pair had an incredibl prim looking bow. This is a great idea for edging up an otherwise girlie shoe. I will definitely be trying this! Great post.
