Just another laid back outfit I shot for my feature in Push It magazine. What I especially love here is my DIY Givenchy AW 2012 look-a-like skirt! It has been sitting in my closet for weeks before I re-made it. It was long and not so appropriate for my body, it just didn’t fit the way I wanted it to. I eventually decided to shorten it and leave it unhemmed. The underskirt was intentionally left longer as a dynamic detail to an otherwise dull black leather skirt. Months after I made it, I saw the Givenchy runway show with this patent ruffled skirt with a see through underskirt and immediately thought: “Wow, I guess I should wear my DIY baby more often!” Another great thing with this piece is its versatility: it can be worn as is, or with underskirt pinned up so it doesn’t show, or even wear a black tulle tutu underneath for more volume! And you can rest assured knowing it will always look trendy – black and leather will never go out of style!
