minimalism in fashion20.01.2013
I spotted the ‘Minimalism in fashion’ book a few months ago in a bookstore downtown and immediately started saving for it. It was going so slow and my piggy bank was almost always empty due to everyday needs like eating, drinking, smoking, going out to lunches, buying “much needed” make-up etc… Then came the fear of it being sold out before I could buy it. Stopping by every week to check if it had sold already became a routine. Month second, I devised a plan to hide it behind other books every time I come, so that no one could see it. We all know people are too lazy to dig out and search for stuff in shops, so this technique has proved to be the right one. I’m guessing this would have gone on for months to come, if it wasn’t for my boyfriend, who knows me oh so well and was probably growing a tad sick of my little bookstore scheming.
It was our anniversary two weeks ago and while he was handing me this rectangular shaped object wrapped in pretty pink paper, he smiled and I knew something was up! I opened the package and there it was – the coveted read I’d been unsuccessfully saving for!
My excitement over this is so real that I can’t wait to start flipping through the pages! Besides some books on design I’m already reading, this will help inspire me so much for creating my collection and building my future portfolio. Let the fun begin!
