blue jeans, vintage jeans, mom jeans, minimal style fashion

First off, I am so happy that you found my previous post about bleaching hair so helpful (almost 2000 views in less than a day, woot!). Since that post drained all the creative writing energy (or any energy actually) from my body, today I’ll be taking it easy and just introducing you to my latest thrifting score.
Behold the piece I’ve been wanting ever since I was a little kid watching videos on MTV and VH1 (and photos of my mom when she was young) – the vintage blue jeans. Except they weren’t vintage back then, they were just your average jeans. Then came the 00’s and these got replaced by bell bottoms that just found their way back into the spotlight. It lasted for a while, but a new fad was about to emerge. The ultra-low rise jeans. So low that I could link a photo of Britney wearing them (with her butt crack showing) to illustrate. But I won’t. However, it was the biggest nonsense ever. And of course I adored it.*
From there, we have had the stone washed, the straight leg, distressed, colored, skinnies, and finally the boyfriend jeans. And from what I see, the vintage or “mom jeans” (as some fashion experts call this cut), will eventually crawl back into our lives and make a big splash, again.
In my opinion, these will be perfect for warmer months ahead! I intend to wear them à la French – rolled up a bit (shown in the second photo) with loose linen shirts, some flats, messy bun and minimal jewelry… Oh là là, j’ai hâte que le printemps arrive!

* I was a teenager then and yes – that is a perfectly good reason for such behavior.

I had no idea that it was called the french way! I have to say that i don’t very well picture the jeans, I so don’t have the pop culture of the 90 – 00’s! I can’t wait to see you wearing them!! :)

I don’t wear jeans cause I’m no good with them (meaning I just can’t seem to style them in a way to make it look interesting), but you almost had me a little tempted here. you’ll rock these, I’m sure! (opet razmišljam na engleskom, haha)

Well, I can’t imagine wearing these “mom jeans” because they’re not my style at all, but I’ve seen some excellent outfits with them.
They are very interesting.

i picked some amazing jeans very similar to these at an irish car boot sale! i wish i’d have anticipated the hype of mom jeans, but i cut them up for summer! i’m now hunting for another pair that isn’t too expensive, (since the hype they go for tonssss of money!)

i can’t wait to see an outfit like you described. sounds lovely for spring!

ah these are perfect! i am loving “mom jeans” for quite a while but i couldn’t find them anywhere in my size. fingers crossed that i will be lucky in the future because your loose striped shirt, messy bun and flats plan sounds amazing and is exactly what i want to wear this spring/summer.
