meanwhile on instagram11.08.2013
As much as I love the app, I sometimes feel like Instagram is rather limiting. While I appreciate its uniqueness and versatility, the squared format can get on my last nerve. I don’t shoot with the built-in camera nor do I use its filters; I usually take pics my phone or my camera and later crop, edit and upload the photos. With that said, I can’t always plan out the composition the way I want to and that is a bit frustrating. For that reason, I think I’m going to occasionally do these posts, just to show you what else is going on in the particular photo outside the 612 x 612 pixel frame and to what degree the cropped parts can add to it (or take away) from the composition and the meaning of the snapshot. Also, I feel like some of the photos I post there are very interesting and definitely blog-worthy, but I don’t always have a story to go with them so they never make the cut. Luckily, I found a way to change that.
I have some news to share, too: I’m spending the month of August in Amsterdam and, as I did last year, this time I have a lil’ project in mind as well. I’ll try to post more often – photo diaries, outfits, details, make up shots… you can expect a bit of everything, as usual. For those who actually enjoy reading my posts, I am afraid I won’t have much time to express my thoughts in 500+ words every time. But I can promise there will be some very interesting subjects I’ll talk about when I get back home, so you can look forward to that.
Hope everyone is enjoying the summer and don’t forget to follow my Instagram (@moiminnie) for a loooot of daily updates!
