I am sure all my readers know how keen I am on finding a background that matches perfectly the clothes I’m wearing. But sometimes it’s good to get out of the rut we created for ourselves and try something we’re not used to. A good friend once told me: “When I look at your blog, I feel like I entered a pharmacy. Everything is in perfect order, so clean and bright.” I took that as a compliment simply because that’s exactly what I wanted my blog to look like in the first place. I’m a sucker for a good magazine editorial and that’s what I’m trying to achieve with my photography and posts. But at the same time, I couldn’t help but wonder if that meant I should change things up a bit once in a while.

With that said, I couldn’t resist posting these. I went through all the photos from this day and I noticed a very interesting thing. Shot at the same time, the same place as “Summer whites” outfit photos, but from a slightly different angle. Et voil√†! Completely new background changed the aesthetic of the photos and gave them a new meaning. Which do you prefer?

A pharmacy? Really??:D But I kind of agree and you definitely should take that as a compliment. That’s your thing and you’re doing it well, more than well! I love both series of the shots, these I probably prefer slightly more though… I can’t really pinpoint why…

@Anonymous: U Amsterdamu. x

@Peet: Haha, yes! And thank you, I’m glad you like these, maybe it’s the sparkling water or the dark greens behind me xx

It has been a while when I’ve visited your blog. I noticed you were in Amsterdam for a month. Such a pity I missed that. We could have met or I could had send you some nice tips (I know the coolest places). Why were you actually there? It’s funny to see that I know some places you’ve photographed and published in the Amsterdam dairy. You were at the university campus of the University of Amsterdam right? And did you took the photo of the little green lake with houses in Gein? I think I’m recognizing it, but it would be coincidence, cause you’re not really getting there easily as a tourist. That’s why I’m curious why you were there :)

I love your blog the way it is now! And how lovely is the comparison to a pharmacy? I always like if people are making that kind of comparisons between two total different things!

I think I like this photoset better mostly because I almost always gravitate towards anything with plants/nature/water. My eyes are like [cling] but the other photoset was really gorgeous in it’s own way. Experimenting will always lead you to fun and exciting places :)

Beautiful pictures, I really like the contrast between the background and your white clothes and hair.
