#Throwback (not Thursday, though) to two summers ago when statement necklaces were all the rage. I myself was obsessed with them for a while, even neglected my other accessories. And these days, I
am slowly getting back into it even found a way to take the statement to a whole other level.
When I’m not busy with layering clothes, I’m busy with layering jewelry. This time talking about necklaces – partly because I know I’ll whine about not wearing them enough when it gets real, minus penguin chilly; partly because I already showed you how to look like a human rings and bracelets holder. As always, when it comes to piling stuff up (and life in general), balance is key. Few chunky pieces will do the trick if you’re dressed simply but your look lacks that ‘oomph’ factor. Not the chunky type of gal but want the similar effect? No problem. Take a peek at Givenchy Fall 2008 collection, take notes and let yourself go crazy. Choose more delicate, longer necklaces with or without pendants and layer your heart out.
How much is too much though? The rule of thumb is: when you start feeling like a Christmas tree or 10kg heavier, stop. Again, balance. Plain, monochromatic clothes work best with wearing tons of jewelry. Stick to clean, simple cuts and silhouettes. Stay away from ruffles and prints. Unless that’s your thing. Then by all means go for it.
all necklaces are collected over the years and come from all over – mom’s closet, friends, local shops…
