DIY tube ring09.05.2014
#TGIF! Weekend is coming so what better timing for a DIY post! This one is so easy, you will wonder how is it possible that no one thought of it before. Even though it’s more of a tip than full-on project, I decided the idea behind it was brilliant enough that it deserved its own post.
The thought of ‘making’ this DIY tube ring came to me while I was cleaning out my old make-up bag. It was full of things I haven’t used in a good while so it was about time I went through it. Putting away the items on which the expiration dates looked way less than environment-friendly, I dropped a lipstick tube. I didn’t care that it broke, I was going to dispose of it anyways. However, I did notice that the silver tube detached. Me being a
twenty three year old (who used to wear underwear on her head when she was little enough not to know better), I immediately put it on my finger as I imagined it would look amazing as a simple statement ring. Wasn’t wrong about that. Since I whined about not being able to find a silver hardware ring on more than one occasion, this was just the thing that filled that void. Needless to say, I took few of the remaining lipstick tubes and gently removed the silver parts using a pair of pliers. In no time, I got my minimal silver hardware rings and for free too! My day was made.
Moral of the story: next time you’re cleaning out your beauty kit, get creative before you throw anything out. Have a nice weekend babes!
