DIY chunky chain necklace20/09/2014
Similar to Céline one, you’ve seen my version on the blog before. A lot of people were interested in knowing where I got it from and, later, how I made it – when I replied it was a DIY. Way before the idea light bulb appeared above my head, I was looking for a simple, inexpensive chunky necklace that I can wear with pretty much anything. Since investing (my non-existent) $2000 in a piece of jewelry was out of the question, I thought I’d have fun with it and get crafty instead. I got the chain from the hardware store (where I usually shop for jewelry haha!) and using pliers attached the two hoops to each end. I already had the chunky clasp which I thought would go nicely with the chain so I used that. You can use anything else, of course – even ribbon, leather straps, etc. I’m not gonna lie – this project was a tad harder because it takes a lot of effort to open and close the real metal hoops so I’d recommend asking for a guy’s help!
