acrylic paint as nail polish17/12/2014
Winter gets me in all sorts of moods on everyday basis. One day I’m all up for warm, berry toned looks and the next I’m going as pale as your average dead person. Today is clearly one of the latter. After a few weeks of rocking the all natural look with not even a clear coat on my nails, I opted for a bit of tint. My mind was leaning towards crisp white shades, my hands were reaching for my matte white nail polish but alas, it was nowhere to be found. After a brief moment of desperation, the decision to put my creativity and DIY skills to good use proved to be the right one. Base coat + a bit of regular white acrylic paint + clear matte top coat, with few minutes of drying in between, and I had my nails just like I wanted them.
Instead of just few brush strokes with one nail polish I had to do a bit more, but as they say – no pain, no gain. Easy, inexpensive and great for when you run out of your favorite nail polish, I give this idea 10 out of 10. And when it starts chipping, don’t panic – just tweak things a little and switch to undone manicure!
PS. The ring is a DIY, believe it or not, and a how-to post will be up soon – keep an eye out for that!
