I wouldn’t be much of a fashion blogger if I didn’t at least once this season rant about ox blood, wine red, burgundy or whatever the trendy word used to describe the color (and its closest relatives, many of them). While I don’t really classify myself as a full-on fashion blogger, this blog still is a place for me to express my style, thoughts and trend adaptations, so I kind of feel compelled to write about the emerging trend mentioned – in my own manner, of course. And burgundy nails is my topic of choice!
Now, I may not appear to be, but I’m a huge sucker for a good manicure. For me, you can be the most gorgeous girl on the planet, if your nails are bitten, with ripped cuticle and not taken proper care of, that’s a total dealbreaker. No, it is not about chipped nail polish or having no nail polish at all, it’s about being neat and having healthy nails.
Admittedly, I’m not the biggest fan of red in clothing, but I love it in small doses in the nail/make-up department. I find its darker version to be the perfect substitute for fall/winter. You’ve definitely seen me rocking burgundy shade as an eyeshadow and a lip/eye liner. Now get acquainted with my almost fave nail polish for every time F/W comes around. Almost? Yes, because as we already know – there is only one black. But since this shade is pretty damn close to the queen, with just a bit of wine red shining through, we can call it a close second. They say anything in excess is bad for you. I find it can be applied to fashion fads as well as everything else in our lives. So I chose to take this fall’s it shade and add it to my day to day style, but in small doses. It was also the perfect excuse to put my long forgotten nail polish to good use.
I’m obviously swooning over burgundy nails these days. What’s your all time favorite nail polish color? And what shade are you cheating your favorite with this season? Share the secrets below!
